Imphal, February 09 2020: Mantripukhri Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised an awareness programme on 'Know Your Armed Forces' at DM College, Imphal yesterday.

The event was organised with an aim to give the young students an insight into the Indian Army and the Assam Rifles.

The event commenced with a motivational lecture cum video screening on "Live a Life Less Ordinary: Indian Army and Assam Rifles" where in the attendees were informed about the glorious history and traditions of the Indian Army and the Assam Rifles.

The lecture was followed by an interactive session in which the students were made aware on various types of entries to join the Indian Armed Forces as a career option, said a statement of PRO IGAR (South) today.

As part of the event, new generation weapons and equipment being used by the Indian Armed Forces were put on display.

Over 350 students of ten colleges and 19 schools from all over the State attended the event, said AR .
