Golden Jubilee of ICAR RC NEH celebrated

The ICAR Research Complex for North Eastern Hill Region (ICAR RC NEH) celebrated its Golden Jubilee at Umiam, Meghalaya on.Thursday.
The event commemorates 50 years of the institution's contributions to research and development, particularly in enhancing agricultural practices and rural livelihoods in the North Eastern region.
The inaugural programme of the Golden Jubilee Celebration cum Farmers' Expo 2025 was graced by dignitaries including Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan; Meghalaya Governor, Chandrasekhar H Vijayashankar; Chief Minister Conrad Sangma; Department of Agricultural Research & Education (DARE), Director General, Dr Himanshu Pathan and ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region, Director, Dr VK Mishra, among others.
Meanwhile, ICAR Manipur Centre also celebrated the Golden Jubilee of ICAR RC NEH at its premises in Lamphelpat.
The event was organised in collaboration with five Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) namely KVK Imphal West, KVK Chandel, KVK Churachandpur, KVK Tamenglong and KVK Ukhrul.
At the event, ICAR Manipur Centre, Head, Dr Ch Basudha said that since its inception, the Centre has been actively involved in research and extension activities, aimed at fulfilling the critical gaps in technologies and developing new technologies specific to farming conditions of Manipur.
Also, the Golden Jubilee Celebration's inaugural function held at Umiam was webcasted at the conference hall of ICAR Manipur Centre.
The event was attended by staff of ICAR Manipur Centre, KVKs and more than 210 farmers from across the State.
