Meeting convened to address Kumbi College issues

Kumbi College Employees Association convened a meeting at the premises of the institution today to discuss the issues prevailing in the College.
The meeting was attended by both teaching and nonteaching staff of Kumbi College, Kumbi area leaders, Panchayat leaders, Kumbi Municipal Council leaders and representatives of NGOs.
The session was attended by W Priyoranjan Singh, chairperson, Kumbi Municipal Council; L (O) Babita Devi, vice chairperson, Kumbi Municipal Council; W Sarda, vice president, United Peace Co-ordinating Committee; L Gopal, president, Kumbi College Employees Association and HoD of Political Science Department and Y Devanand Singh, HoD, Mathematics Department as the presidium members.
During the meeting, the gathering passed many resolutions concerning the employees of the College.
Notably, the meeting resolved that the governing body of the College should handover the funds collected from the employees around three years ago to the Kumbi College Employees Association by August 20, 2024 .
The gathering further maintained that the notification issued in connection with the election of new members of the governing body should be declared null and void.
Additionally, the meeting resolved that former members of the body and other related individuals who were involved in collecting money from the employees should be prohibited from becoming members of the new body.
As the fourth resolution, the gathering decided to urge local MLA S Premchandra to help upgrade the College and lastly, to form an enquiry committee consisting of Kumbi rea public leaders, representatives of clubs and organizations, meira paibis, members of Kumbi Municipal Council to monitor the disputes in the College.
Meanwhile, highlighting a major cause of concern, L Gopal Singh stated that employees of the College have not been paid their wages for the last 25 months.
