Jiribam SP, OC replaced, addl commando teams reach Jiribam

Imphal, June 08 2024: In view of the present law and order situation in Jiribam, both SP Jiribam and OC of Jiribam police station have been replaced while additional police commando teams have been sent to the district to curb the violence.

SP Jiribam A Ghanashyam Sharma has been transferred as additional director MPTC in a new transfer and posting order issued by joint secretary (DP) Saturday while the same order posted director MPTC M Pradip as senior SP Jiribam and Kabib K as IGP (intelligence) and director MPTC.

In another order issued by DGP Manipur, former OC of Jiribam PS inspector S Ibotombi Singh presently utilised as CID (security) has been retained as OC Jiribam PS while OC Jiribam PS H Devenkishore Singh has been transferred as CID (security) .

Meanwhile, additional police commando teams sent to Jiribam district as part of state government's efforts to curb violence reached Jiribam.

All the police commando teams were airlifted by helicopter from Imphal to Jiribam in view of inconvenience likely to be faced during movement along the NH-37 road and the requirement to reach Jiribam at the earliest.
