Suspected UG cadres apprehended

Ukhrul, May 08 2024: Based on credible inputs, a combined team of Ukhrul District Police and 35 Assam Rifles arrested two persons from Viewland Zone III of Ukhrul town.

The arrested persons have been identified as Huidrom Jitanjit Singh and Tomba Luwang, suspected to be active cadres of an underground outfit.

According to the sources, the troop of Assam Rifles under the supervision of Colonel Manoj Shinde, Commandant 35 AR raided the area and apprehended the two cadres at around 1:00 pm from Viewland Zone III, Ukhrul town.

The combined team seized Rs 1,71,500 in cash, ammunition, a gold chain, four mobile phones, twc wireless sets and other valuable documents from theii possession.

The arrested persons were taken to Ukhrul District Hospital for medica examinations.

The arrested persons are yet to hand over to the Ukhrul Police Station till the time of filing this news report.
