Awareness Programme held

A 1-Day Awareness cum Capacity Building Programme on "Drug Abuse Prevention" forteachers, social workers, community leaders, youth leaders & Church leaders was conducted today at Nirvana Foundation Children Home for Girls, Ghari Awang Leikai, Imphal West.
The programme was jointly organised by Nirvana Foundation and State Level Coordinating Agency, Manipur with the support of NISD, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
It was graced by Thuansinlung Kamei, Project Co-ordinator Sneha Bhavan IRCA; Kh Basanta, Project Coordinator Divine Light IRCA; M Ranjitkumar, Field Officer, SLCA Manipur and Sobhana Sorokhaibam, Secretary, Nirvana Foundation as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Thuansinlung Kamei expressed concern over the increasing cases of drug abuse & addiction in recent years despite the effort of the Government & various agencies/ organisations to curb the menace of drugs from the State.
Thuansinlung appealed to the teachers, social workers, community leaders, youth leaders and Church leaders to provide their cooperation in spreading awareness about the ill effects of drugs among the masses.
Thuansinlung also urged all to provide their support in making Manipur a Drug Free State.
