The reception function was held at BJP Manipur Unit office, Nityaipat Chuthek Imphal here.
"Unlike the Congress led UPA, when the BJP led NDA government noticed about the UNC sponsored economic blockade, the Centre immediately appealed to the UNC leaders to abort their indefinite blockade in the public interest.
The government also deputed Home Ministry officials including Joint Secretary and Addl.
Secretary (Home) to find the way out to bring amicable solution to the prevailing imbroglio.
"On behalf of the party, I will also highlight Manipur issue to the Central government for intervention and taking up measures to ensure people are not hit by the blockade", Tapir Gao assured.
He further informed that he would visit Senapati on September 8 to take stock of the ground realities on the issue and talk with the agitating UNC leaders for a solution.
While spelling out that Manipur is under the special care of Narendra Modi led NDA government, he said that the Centre recently announced to sanction Rs 100 Crores for sports University in Manipur even without the prior knowledge of the State government and people.
It also proves that BJP led government never neglects the state, Tapir Gao claimed.
'Regarding Inner Line permit issue, he said that the issue has been a long pending demand of the people.
Chief Minister O Ibobi has kept silent for almost ten years on the issue rather than taking up the issue with the Central government.
It is the duty of the State government to implement ILP in the state.
Centre cannot do anything without knowledge and initiative of the state since India is a federal structure', he added, while urging Ibobi to take ILP issue with the Centre.
As centre takes Imphal-Jiribam National highway seriously, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is taking up measures to complete the road construction work within short period, he further said.
BJP national Secretary P Chandrasekhar Rao, BJP Manipur state Unit president Th.Chaoba were also present during the function.
