DCs issue order against threshing of paddy on paved public roads

Thoubal/Bishnupur, November 06 2024: Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal and Bishnupur have directed farmers to stop using any part of paved public roads for the purpose of threshing paddy.

Additionally, the orders issued by DC A Subhash Singh and DC Lourembam Bikram Singh have notified owners/ drivers of farm vehicles to compulsorily remove mud from the tyre(s) of the farm vehicles before driving out to the main road in their respective districts.

The directives were issued as it was brought to the notice of the Thoubal and Bishnupur District Administrations that with the start of the harvesting season, some farmers or individuals have resorted to threshing of paddy on paved public roads and a large number of farm vehicles used in paddy fields have dropped mud on paved roads thereby causing damage to public property and endangering public life.
