Ukhrul, November 06 2012:
In more ways than one the district administration deserved a big hand for its support towards the 26 rescued children from Kerela, who have now finally and officially inducted into the special Residential Bridge Course on Monday.
The official inauguration of the RBC was held on November 5 in the presence of rescued children and their parents at the hostel building of Ukhrul Higher Secondary School.
On August 28 last, a welcome reception for the children was conducted in the official chamber of Ukhrul Deputy Commissioner during which the administration assured of the special RBC under SSA fund.
In today's programme, SDO Rita Leiyaphi, who graced as the chief guest, distributed study materials to the children and exhorted the children to make good use of this opportunity.
For the rescued children, the entire 16-room ground floor has been alloted beside a specially designed classroom and new kitchen with the rooms all fitted with solar power supply.

Yo Kapai felt that the RBC would be a fruitful initiative and said that the programme has been taken through intervention programme for out-of-school children under SSA and expressed thanks to deputy commissioner for realising this plan.
The entire project has been set up at an estimated cost of about Rs.18 lakhs.
For the RBC, the concerned department has allocated 3 female instructors including a warden and two assistants as cook and grade IV worker.
The children will later be inducted into Ukhrul Higher Secondary School and the RBC is a preparatory measure.
Since their rescue from Kerala, they have been imparted a course in their respective blocks.
Earlier, Ukhrul ICDS project officer Ringshangphy related how the children were repatriated from Kerala and the helps extended by various quarters in handling them to their respective parents.
It may be recalled that the children were taken to Kerala last year with false promises of free education in Christian institution in clear contradiction to Juvenile guidelines and certain Acts applicable to minors hailing from Northeast.
