Free physiotherapy camp for IDPs on Sep 8

Imphal, September 06 2024: All Manipur Physiotherapy Association (AMPA) will be organising a 1-day free physiotherapy camp for IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) at the Relief Camp openedinKumbi Leirak Achouba Laishang Leikai Lampak community hall, Bishnupur district.

Speaking to media persons today at Manipur Press Club, AMPA secretary Dr Leishangthem Romenkumar Meitei said that the free physiotherapy camp will be organised in connection with the celebration of World Physical Therapy Day 2024 .

He stated that World Physical Therapy Day is observed every year on September 8 to raise awareness about the critical role of physical therapists and chronic pain therapies in keeping people healthy and fit.

"This year, with the increasing prevalence of low back pain conditions among the global population, we aim to focus bn this issue to improve the quality of life for those affected by low back pain", he added.

He continued that AMPA is making significant efforts to provide free mobility aids to those in need, especially those staying in relief camps across the State.

"We request all members to attend the therapy camp.

For members who are unable to attend, we kindly request that you offer free consultations and treatment to patients in your respective clinics across all districts, including Senapati, Ukhrul, Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Noney, Churachandpur, and others, on this important day", he added.

Further, Dr Romenkumar urged all the physiotherapists in Manipur to continue serving the patients especially those in areas where clinics are inaccessible.
