AAY, BPL rice siphoned off fraudulently

Five Hundred and Forty One (541) bags of rice under AAY and BPL schemes meant for distribution among the beneficiaries of Thangmeiband A/C for the month of August have been fraudulently siphoned off by one Ch Khurailakpa forging the signatures of Presidents and Secretaries of various Clubs of the constituency, charged the Consumer Welfare Committee of Thangmeiband A/C .
Addressing a press meet in this connection at Manipur Press Club here today, Longjam Tiken, President of Consumer Welfare Committee, Thangmeiband A/C said that Ch Khurailaka forged the signatures of P Lokendro, President of Thangmeiband Youth Centre; S Rajendrakumar, President of ICHAL; Ngangbam Gojendro, President of Lalambung Takellambam Leikai Youth Development Organisation; Nameirakpam Tomba, President of YUDO; H Nishikanta, General Secretary of Youth Voluntary Development Organisation and others to siphon off the allocated AAY and BPL rice quota from the government's storage godown on August 21 last.
Tiken demanded that strict actions be taken up against Ch Khurailakpa by the concerned authority and said that the rightful shares of the beneficiaries of Thangmeiband A/C should be recovered from the accused.
Other Presidents and Secretaries of different Clubs and Organisations of Thangmeiband A/C, who were also present during the press meet, also demanded that appropriate punishment be given to Ch Khurailakpa for his misdeeds.
The State Government should also take up steps to find out who Ch Khurailakpa is and do the needful for providing AAY and BPL rice to the beneficiaries.
