Imphal, August 04 2021:
Manipur People's Party has called upon the BJP led Government at the Centre and in the State not to procrastinate the boundary related problems Manipur has withMyanmarandNagaland.
Dr S Ibomcha Singh, vice president, MPP said this in a statement issued yesterday and added that Myanmar and Manipur have border related issues since the time when the then Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru handed over Kabaw Valley to Myanmar and the recent issue where the border pillar between the two countries were shifted 3 kms inside Manipur's (India's) territorial boundary.
Similar issues are also there between Manipur and Nagaland at various locations including the ownership of Dzuko Valley, he added.
The recent issue of inter-State conflict between Assam and Mizoram regarding is a clear example that the volatile situation in the North Eastern states can culminate into violence any moment and the Government needs to pay heed to such problems and work towards solving the problems once and for all.
