Army extends relief materials

Tamenglong, May 04 2020:
Rendering humanitarian service to the villagers during this time of hardship, 4 Bihar Regiment, Tamei Battalion of the Indian Army provided food items to the needy people of Katang village, Tamei, Tamlok village and Thenjang village today.
Tamei subdivision is under Tamenglong district of Manipur.
Awareness camps on COVID 19 were also held in these villages on the day.
The multiple awareness camps cum food relief items distribution programmes were organized in order to ease the difficulties of the people who are deprived of proper roads and public distribution system besides the hardships caused by the lockdown.
Village authorities and the people co-operated and expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army for the service rendered.
During the event at Tamei, an Army doctor from Tamei Battalion informed the local people about the various precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID 19 .
All social distancing norms were stringently followed during the conduct of the events.
Patriotic tunes were also played by the military band of the Tamei Battalion as a mark of honour and appreciation towards the "corona warriors" .
