Loud speaker campaign kicks off

The Thoubal Forest Division kicked off a Loud Speaker Campaign aimed towards conserving migratory birds and other local birds and water fowls roosting in the wetlands of Manipur.
The campaign was started as part of Celebration of Wildlife Week 2024 held under the theme "Wildlife Conservation Through Coexistence".
The Loud Speaker Campaign was flagged off from Range Forest Office Thoubal by Dineschandra Salam, Range Officer Thoubal and L Samananda, Forest Beat Officer, Mayai Keithel under the supervision of DFO Dr Leishangthem Jeeceelee.
The Loud Speaker Campaign truck visited many areas under Thoubal Forest Division as well as wetlands and imparted the message of conserving migratory birds while cautioning that hunters/poachers can be jailed for three years or be penalized upto Rs 25,000 under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 .
