Atleast three students of DAV Public School were injured as a man broke the window glass of the school bus, in which they were travelling at Khoyathong Pukhri Achouba Maning at around 9.20 am today.
A teacher, who boarded the bus along with the students, said that the bus blocked the road for some time to pick up students of the area.
Infuriated over blocking of the road by the school bus, one Sagolsem Anil (44) of Thangmeiband Polem Leikai shouted at the driver to clear the way.
On hearing Anil's shout, the driver cleared the way after picking up the students.
However, Anil chased the bus up to Kangpokpi parking and asked the driver to get off from the bus.
As the driver refused to get off the bus, Anil brought an iron road and broke the windows of the bus injuring three students, the teacher said.
Anil pulled out a pistol and forcibly got inside the bus and thrashed the driver at gun point.
The injured students have been identified as Karal Paul s/o Karik Paul of Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai (class VI), Priyanka Das d/o Bijoy Das of Nagamapal Poonam Leikai (class IX), Mahabir Baruah s/o Rajesh Baruah (class IV) .
They sustained injuries on head and hand as broken glass fell on them.
AMSU president Thiyam Naresh said that the student's body has taken serious note of the incident and condemned Anil's action, which clearly showed his might against an innocent driver.
He added that the State Government must take appropriate action against Anil and take up necessary measures to check such unwanted incidents in future.
Later, police arrested Anil.
Driver, M Mohori (53) of Lilong Makha Nungrei registered a complaint to the police with the filing of an FIR.
