NEC plenary meeting Status report of Jiri rail track sought

The Ministries concerned would present their respective status reports on different infrastructure development works at the 62nd Plenary Meeting of North Eastern Council (NEC) to be held at the main committee room of Parliament on July 16 .
Governors, Chief Ministers and officials of all the eight North East States will attend the meeting which will be inaugurated by DoNER Minister Pawan Singh Ghatowar said an official source.
DoNER Ministry is trying to gather precise status reports of laying railway track.
National Highways development works being undertaken in Manipur.
Target deadlines of these projects would also be sought at the meeting wherein annual allocation of fund of these States would be fixed.
Annual budget of the council would also be presented at the meeting, added the source.
Meanwhile, prior to fixing of annual allocation of fund of Manipur under NEC.
Planning Commission has made up its mind to fix the allocation amount at Rs 44 crore for Manipur, said the source.
The State Government is likely to request the NEC to increase the said amount, as it is not enough even for the release of fund for the construction of roads being undertaken in the State, added
the source.
