Yet another blast rocks Imphal city, none hurt

Imphal, November 02 2013 : Four days after a powerful bomb blast claimed three lives at Moirangkhom, another blast of almost equal magnitude was triggered by unidentified armed miscreants at Kalibari area of Thangal Bazar here at around 7.20 pm today.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the blast this time.

However, a Maruti Van bearing registration no.MN04/8345, a large number of hand-carts (Thelagaris) and a portion of a building suffered damage partially due to the impact of the blast.

It is not clear who might have planted the explosive but the bomb squad said it could be a powerful IED 'timer' bomb.

Minutes after the blast, top police officials including ADGP LM Khoute, IG (Law & Order) L Kailun, DIG Range-I Clay Khongsai, SP of Imphal West district K Jayanta, etc, rushed in to take stock of the situation.
