Man with ' 91 lakh detained at airport

An employee of a private company was prevented from taking a Guwahati-bound flight at Imphal airport Thursday when a cash amount of ' 91,70,380 was found in his registered baggage.
A police source said that Shambhu Kumar Jha (38) son of Nantum Jha of Nabatoli village of Bihar's Madhubani district, an employee of M/S Sangam Area Woolen Mills Ltd, SB Road, Fancy Bazar, Guwahati, was about to board a Guwahati-bound flight from Imphal.
CISF personnel on checking and frisking duty at the airport detected the huge cash amount in the baggage registered with the Jet Airways travel agency when conducting a check at the X-ray point of the airport.
CISF personnel handed over the person to the Singjamei police for further necessary action.
A police source said that the employee was detained on the instruction of the Imphal West SP and Director of CISF both of whom were informed of the man carrying the huge cash amount.
