Naga Regiment celebrates 55th raising day

The 55th Raising Day of the Naga Regiment, Head Hunters, was celebrated on Friday at Christianity Centenary Hall, Modi Village in Chandel district.
Organised by ex-service-men of the regiment, the event brought together veterans of the regiment including widows and their families.
The event began with an opening prayer by Rt Bebe Jackson, Pastor, Modi Baptist Church with Lk Tanghring welcoming the gathering.
While reading the history of the Naga Regiment, K Wangshot Lamkang informed that the regiment was formed on 1 November, 1970 and currently occupies a place of honour in the Indian Army.
As part of the observation, those among the first to join the Naga Regiment when it was formed spoke on their experiences with the gathering.
On the occasion, Lambung Women Ministry presented a beautiful choreography as part of the celebration which concluded with a grand feast at the village ground.
They shared the hardships, the challenges and their victories.
The celebration was attended by ex-servicemen of the regiment, their families, widows of veterans and well wishers numbering in hundreds.
