Bpr/Tbl, March 01 2024:
Meira Paibis of Charangpat Mamang Leikai staged a sit-in protest today against the Government's alleged crackdown on volunteers of Arambai Tenggol (AT) and villages.
The womenfolk strongly condemned the alleged plan of the Government against the volunteers of AT and villages who have been playing an indispensable role in fighting the aggression of the Kukis ever since the outbreak of the communal conflict in May last year.

Placards which read 'Refrain from arresting volunteers of AT and village forces', 'Abrogate Suspension of Operations (SoO) pact with Kuki-Zo insurgent groups', 'Implement NRC in Manipur', 'Delist illegal Kuki immigrants from the ST status', etc were used and similar slogans were raised during the protest which was jointly organised by Changapat Mamang Leikai Apunba Meira Paibi Lup and Thoubal Ima at Mamang Leikai Kangjeibung Maya Keithel today.
Speaking in connection with the protest, a meira paibi leader named Manglembi strongly denounced the inefficacy of the Centre and State to resolve the communal crisis which has been going on for more than nine months.
Further she called for immediate measures to put an end to the ongoing conflict and pave the way for restoration for peace and normalcy in Manipur.
On the other hand, protests were carried out at various places yesterday evening by meira paibis and locals at Nambol Thiyam Mangrapokpi organised by Thiyam Apunba Meira Paibi Lup and Pukhrambam Athletic Club ground organised by Pukhrambam Thingel Apunba Meira Paibi denouncing the alleged actions against the volunteers of village forces and AT.
In line with the above protests, meira paibis came out on the streets and protested at Moirang Lamkhai and raised slogans demanding abrogation of SoO pact with Kuki militants and implementation of NRC in Manipur.
