Bishnupur, February 01 2023:
Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha Assam and North East States president Biswadeep Gupta has strongly denounced the "war criminal" tag associated with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's name used by international organisations such as the Commonwealth of Nations and United Nations.
The ABHM NE States president was speaking at the launching of a pan India signature campaign to quash the "war criminal" tag from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's name held today at INA Martyrs Memorial Complex hall in Moirang.
Speaking on the occasion, Biswadeep Gupta lamented over the silence of the Indian Government on the "war criminal" tag assigned to Netaji by several international organisations.
He asserted that Netaji did not cause the Second World War and that people of Manipur suffered the adverse effects of the War while some even lost their lives during the War.
"This pan India signature campaign will collect over 2 lakh signatures from North East states.
Aside from this, an online signature campaign will also be launched", he added.
Biswadeep Gupta further shared that school and college students can also join this signature campaign.
During the event jointly organised by ABHM and Knowledge Resource Centre Foundation, floral tributes were paid to a portrait of Netaji and appreciation certificates were handed over to the members of the INA Advisory Committee.
