Training programme under KKA-II conducted

A one day training programme on Bee keeping, Mushroom Cultivation, Nutrition Gardening and awareness programme on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna under "Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan - II" was conducted at Liwa Changning village for the villagers of Liwa Changning, Unapal, Lamkang Khungkha, Leipung Tampak, here, yesterday.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare had launched Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan for doubling farmers' income by 2022, said a press release issued by Deepak Singh Sr Scientist and Head, KVK Chandel.
Maintaining that the purpose of the scheme is to aid, assist and advise farmers on how to improve their farming techniques in order to increase their incomes, he added that the scheme will be undertaken in another 25 villages of Chandel district for KKA phase -II.
Keynote address was given by Dr K Sonamani Singh, ACTO (Agril Engg) KVK Chandel.
In the training session, topic on Bee keeping, Mushroom Cultivation and Nutrition Gardening and awareness programme for Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY), a comprehensive crop insurance to the farmer were deliberated by Dr N Johnson Singh, ACTO (Plant Protection), KVK Churachandpur; Dr Kl Levis Chongloi, ACTO (Agronomy) and Dr Y Prabhabati Devi, ACTO (Home Science) of KVK Chandel and SP Lovejoy Anal, SMDC/SDAO, Agriculture Department, Chandel respectively, he said.
An interaction programme of farmers and technical experts were also conducted after the training.
The training was also attended by Dr Deepak Singh, Sr Scientist & Head, Ts Leenda Monsang, ACTO (Plant Breeding), Th Motilal Singh, ACTO (Agriculture Extension), Dr Ameeta Devi, ACTO (Animal Science), D Doungel, Technical Officer (Computer) and Super Kamei, Technical Officer (Farm) of KVK Chandel; Ts Behelen Monsang, Chief of Liwa Changning and K Thamdon, Chief of Leipung Tampak village.
236 farmers from Liwa Changning, Unapal, Lamkang Khungkha and Leipung Tampak village also attended the training programme.
