LADF should serve people in many ways: CM Ibobi

Saying that plans and projects from the side of the government meant for bringing development in the State would carry on; Chief Minister O Ibobi stressed the need for construction of certain things under Local Area Development Fund which would last for many years.
The CM made the statements while inaugurating a newly built Uripok Achom Leikai Basketball Ground cum Community Hall at Uripok Achom Leikai, Imphal West today.
The inauguration function was organized by Construction Management Committee Achom Leikai Basketball Ground cum Community Hall.
Ibobi conceded that the basketball ground cum community hall was constructed in a well manner which is much required to maintain quality control and noted that need for taking up developmental works would never end but the works should be executed in such a way that it serve the people in many ways.

L Nandakumar, MLA of Uripok Constituency who attended the function as president said that the basketball ground cum community hall was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 45 lakh and disclosed that CM donated a sum of Rs 24 lakh for its construction while the remaining amount was used from MLA Local Area Development Fund.
Admitting that much developmental works could not be taken up in the constituency due to absence of khas land in the area, the MLA asserted that the government is trying to come up with various developmental works in the constituency.
He pointed out that there is a khas land nearby the basketball ground cum community hall where a park could be constructed as a resting place for elderly persons.
Today's inauguration function was also attended by PHED Minister I Hemochandra; Education Minister M Okendro and Parliamentary Secretary (Youth Affairs & Sports) M Prithviraj as guests of honor.
