7th Pay: FWD employees stage sit-in

Imphal, July 31 2018: Following the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO, employees of Family Welfare Department have staged a sit-in demanding implementation of 7th Pay at the premises of the department today.

Demanding that the BJP led Government should deliver the party's promise of implementing 7th Pay in the State, an employee of the Family Welfare Department who took part in the sit-in said that the Government has failed to hear their plea even after 132 days of democratic protests and agitations.

The sit-in denounced an order of the State Government on July 28 regarding implementation of the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission with respect to State Government employee and pensioners.

The sit-in demanded that the 7th Pay together with arrears be implemented with effect from April 1, 2016 .
