Nimaichand Luwang demands unconditional apology

Refuting to reports published in local dailies in Imphal on June 24 issues, President, Manipur Peoples' Party Dr Nimaichand Luwang today issued legal notice to the Pradhan of Wangkhem Gram Panchayat, Secretary, Convener and a members of Haokha Kiyam Siphai and Kiyam Litanpok Development Committee demanding unconditional apology
within 15 days.
According to a press release issued by advocate N Surendrajit, the report about MGNREGS work published in local dailies not only defamed Dr NImaichand Luwang in the state but also in other states of the country too.
A defamation suit of Rs 50 lakhs can be demanded from Md Helim, Pradhan Wangkhem GP if he failed to tender unconditional apology within 15 days of the date of receiving the legal notice.
If he failed to apologise within the time given, legal actions shall be taken against him.
In another news report published in local dailies about the incident of Yairipok Singa, Th Narjit, Secretary Haokha, Kiyam Siphai and Kiyam Litanpok Development Committee, Treasurer Th Shyamo and member Md Hamid alleged the hand of Nimaichand Luwang in the incident which bring defamation to the MPP president.
Demanding unconditional apology from the trio regarding the news report, the lawyer of Dr Nimachand Luwang, Advocate Surendrajit issued legal notices to them to tender apology within 15 days failing which legal actions will be taken up against them.
