One day exhibition / assessment programme held

Imphal, January 31 2022: A one day exhibition of handloom weavers' product cum skill assessment programme was organised by Heingang Gram Panchayat Level Multipurpose Cooperative Society (HGPLMPCS) Limited at its head office at Heingang Makha Leikai today.

The programme was organised under the sponsorship of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Regional Office, Lamphelpat and Manipur State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) Ltd.

Today's function was attended by General Manager, NABARD Regional Office, Dr M Srinivasa Rao, president of Board of Management, MSCB Ltd, Pangambam Ranjit, Pradhan of Heingang Gram Panchayat, Konjengbam Jayanta and Managing Director of MSCB Ltd Bidyarani Ayekpam as the presidium members.

A total of 46 stalls participated in the exhibition cum skill assessment programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr M Srinivasa Rao said that under the sponsorship of NABARD, many welfare schemes of weavers and artisans are being taken up.

He further expressed belief that the programme will benefit the weavers and the people of Heingang considerably though it is held for a day only and it will pave the way for them to become self reliant.

Also NABARD has been extending help to those who are eager to work, he added.
