Block Congress Committee, Kakching fetes; 7 Ind Councillors join Congress

Thoubal, January 31 2016: The newly elected Congress Councillors and Members of Ward Development Committee were yesterday feted by the Block Congress Committee (BCC), Kakching at Kakching Congress Bhavan, reports our correspondent.

The programme was also attended by Kakching AC MLA Yengkhom Surchandra Singh, Kakching Municipal Council Chairperson in-charge Yengkhom Nando Singh, BCC Kakching president Ksh Ibohal Singh, BCC Kakching vice president Indurekha Devi.

Speaking at the programme, MLS Y Surchandra urged the Councillors to work collectively and bring development in Kakching.

In the meantime, seven newly elected Independent Coun- cillors of Kakching Municipal Council have joined the Congress party yesterday.

The Independent Councillors who have joined the Con- gress party are N Surjit Singh, Kakching Municipal Council Ward No 11, Kh Thambal, Kakching Municipal Council Ward No 12, Th (O) Sangita Devi, Kakching Municipal Council Ward No 14, N Shanti Devi, Kakching Municipal Council Ward No 15, Mutum Ibobi Singh, Kakching Mu- nicipal Council Ward No 16, Shaphura Khatun, Kakching Municipal Council Ward No 17 and Moirangthem Rabi Singh, Kakching Municipal Council Ward No 18 .
