The Governor, Ved Prakash Marwah, will be inaugurating the recently completed twin-storey shopping complex at the border town of Moreh, built under a Central grant, on January 16 next, according to a reliable source.
A decision to this effect was taken at a high level meeting held at the Raj Bhavan today chaired by the Governor and attended by the advisor (K), the state chief secretary, and other top officials.
The market complex was built under border areas development project at an estimated cost of Rs 1.80 crores by the district council engineering cell.
The market complex is to be handed over to the Moreh Small Town Committee immediately after it is inaugurated.
Today�s meeting also approved the allotment of 80 shops on the ground floor of the market complex to the Moreh Development Association, which had donated the land upon which the complex is built.
The remaining shops in the complex will be allocated to eligible applicants.
A committee chaired by divisional commissioner-III, H Devashekhar Sharma has been formed in this regard.
Other committee member includes the SP, Chandel, the director, tribal development, and the ADC, Moreh.
It is learnt that the state administration has already obtained a no-objection certificate from the Election Commission of India, which is required as the election model code of conduct has been enforced in the state after the announcement of the schedule of the Assembly elections.
