Education, Labour & Employment Minister Thokchom Radheshyam has appreciated the initiative taken up to organized the State Level Manipur Pony Show, 2018, and, said; anybody who loves and thinks about Manipur should love and think about conserving and saving the one only soul of Polo the Pony.
The Minister was speaking as Chief Guest at the valedictory function of the "State Level Manipur Pony Show", 2018 held at the Sports Complex, College of Agriculture, Central Agriculture University, CAU, Imphal.
The Pony show was organized by the Department of Animal Sciences College of Agriculture, CAU, Imphal under the aegis of the ICAR-NRCE Project "Conservation of Manipuri Pony", CAU, Imphal.
He said that, such initiative will help in creating awareness about safeguard the pony.
The Government is already mapping out a policy for the conservation and safeguarding the endangered species of horse Pony, he added.
The winners of the third State Level Manipur Pony Show, 2018 was also presented today.
The first prize in the Category A - Stallion was won by Deepak Kharel with his horse Tanglei, of Louthrel Horse Riding Club, second and third places was taken by K.Tomthin and A.Abung Meitei, of CAU.
In the Category B - Mare T.Herojit of Wangkhei X - Polo Club won the first position while the second and third position goes to Yumnam Binoy Singh of Paradise Polo Club and Th.Kaoba Singh of Kongpal Chingkhei Hunba.
Vice Chancellor, CAU, Imphal Dr..MPremjit Singh, Dean, CAU, Imphal Prof.Joykumar Laishram, Head & Organising Secretary Dr, Th.Ranadhir Singh, professors, students and pony lovers attended the closing ceremony.
