Imphal, January 30 2017:
BJP State Unit president, K Bhabananda has claimed that the policy of the Congress party to win votes by creating new districts will be fruitless.
He made the claim at a public meeting organised at Koubul Lampak, Heingang Awang Leikai by BJP Heingang Mandal as a part of the election campaign for N Biren, the BJP candidate for Heingang A/C.
Speaking at the meeting, Bhabananda said, "15 years is more than enough.
It is time for the Congress to retire as its life span is finished.
If the Congress thinks that creating new districts will get bring in votes, it is gravely mistaken".

Pointing out that the people are paying the price for choosing the wrong candidate during elections, he said that the people are suffering because the State Government views the administration as a business while putting aside the welfare of the people.
"The wrong people are leading the Government.
The Government has failed utterly because the all the Ministers are being led by these people", he said.
Bhabanada also clarified that N Biren was welcomed into the party fold after minute discussion.
BJP MLA, Th Biswajit said that the Congress is no match for BJP in the coming election.
"The Congress party is slowly dying from the country as a result of incessant corruption.
Has there been any case regarding corruption ever since BJP came to power in the Centre", he asked.
"The Congress has no presence in the hills any more and it is slowly dying in the valley too.
The people will be able to taste the corruption free and prosperous era of BJP soon", he claimed.
Speaking at the meeting, Francis Ngajokpa stated that he did not quit Congress due to pressure or threat.
According to him, BJP will sweep the election in the hills and added he quit the Congress because he would not get any vote if he stayed.
N Biren said that he too quit Congress because of the policy to instigate unrest and chaos for their self interest and because he saw eye to eye with the Centre regarding some of the critical issues of the State.
He claimed that he tried to correct the various wrongs inside the Congress during his time with the party pointing out that he is not slamming the Congress now just because he has joined BJP.
"As long as the Congress remain in power, the situation of the State will deteriorate further.
In order to bring peace and prosperity in the State and to strengthen the bond between the hill and the valley, the time has come for BJP to form the Government in the State", he said.
