People's convention on shifting of Ramakrishna Mission

Pressing the demand for shifting of Ramkrishna Mission, Uripok to some other places and revival of Uripok Tondonsana High School, a people's convention was organised by Naharol Chaokhat Hanba Kanglup at Uripok Bachaspati Maning Leikai community hall today .
The convention moderated by Sapamcha Jadumani, founder president of UCM, the convention was attended by S Biradhaja, president of Epathoukok; H Murali, president of UMBLDA; A Pholen, advisor, Parent Committee of Uripok Tondonsana School; S Momom Leima, president, Chingmi Tammi Chigmee Apunba Manipur; Arjun Telheiba, convener, JCILPS; Y Dilip; chairman, Pandam and Palarda, president, NCK as guests of honour .
Addressing the gathering, Sapamcha Jadumani said that conversion of Uripok Tondonsana School as Ramkrishna Mission has left many poor families in the lurch.
He said that 300 students belonging to poor families studied at Uripok Tondonsana School but they have been left nowhere following the conversion of the school .
He also said that the students were made to enrol at Lamboikhongnangkhong Government School which is far from their residences .
Numerous memorandums were submitted to the previous Government urging to revive the school but no action was taken up to do so, he said .
The people’s convention resolved to shift Ramkrishna Mission, Uripok and revive Uripok Tondonsana High School .
It further resolved to construct a playground at the area where local students could groom their sporting talents .
The people’s convention also uanimously resolved to form a committee in this regard and launch different forms of agitation to meet the demand.
