Senapati ADC opposes Sadar Hills district demand

Senapati, October 29 2016: In an emergency meeting held today, the Autonomous District Council (ADC), Senapati has resolved to oppose the creation of "full-fledged Sadar Hills district" .

The emergency meeting participated by members of ADC, Senapati was chaired by ML Markson, chairman of the ADC, Senapati.

In its one point resolution adopted, the ADC, Senapati said that "as representatives at the grass-root level and irrespective of political parties", it will oppose the creation of "full fledged Sadar Hills district" .

The ADC, Senapati also said that all stake holders including the Nagas should be consulted if at all the demand is to be granted.

The ADC, Senapati further said that the Government should not favour any particular community, tribe or political party in this regard, and that the "social harmony" should not be disturbed and the Government should not "create public unrest at this juncture" .
