2 AR men, 3 civilians hurt in grenade attack

Imphal, January 29 2015 :
At least two Assam Rifles personnel and three civilians have been injured when suspected militants attacked the Lilong post of 40 AR at around 6.30 this evening.
According to information culled from the spot, a team of 40 AR, D-Coy were checking commuters just 300 metres north of their camp along Imphal-Moreh highway when some suspected militants who came in an auto-rickshaw lobbed a hand grenade towards them.
The grenade blast left Naik Subedar Kunjumon (47) and Rifleman Deepak (30) wounded.
It also injured three civilians who were travelling in a Tata Magic passenger van.
The injured civilians have been identified as Md Maheijuddin (35) s/o Abdul Latif of Lilong Mairenkhul, Md Wasim (20) s/o Md Tomba of Moijing Leitanpok and Laishram Bobby (25) s/o late Tomba of Yairipok Poiroukhongjin.

While the two injured AR personnel were taken to RIMS, Bobby was rushed to Advance Hospital.
Maheijuddin and Wasim have been admitted at Iboyaima Hospital.
All five of them were hit by splinters.
Lilong P/S OC RK Tejbir inspected the blast site apart from registering a case.
On the other hand, 40 AR CO Col Deepak Dayal went to RIMS and visited the two injured personnel.
Counting today's incident, the AR post has been attacked with explosives for five times lately.
