Guwahati, September 28 2012:
Arrested UNLF Chairman RK Meghen has hailed the order of framing charge against him by the NIA court which admitted that the activities carried out by UNLF are only to bring back the lost sovereignty of Manipur as 'a big political victory' .
Along with Meghen 15 arrested members of UNLF were produced before the NIA Court, Guwahati today.
The trail may be conducted after Justice Ikramul Hussain, who is on leave, returns from Haz.
Talking to media persons after appearing before the special court of NIA, Meghen categorically stated that UNLF does not accept the charged terms like separatist, insurgent, secessionist as Manipur was never a part of India and it existed as an independent nation for more than 2000 years Moreover, UNLF is not waging war against India nor Indian army is taken as enemy.
UNLF only resists the Indian armed forces stationed in Manipur from engaging in colonial repression.
"We have nothing to demand from Govt.of India but to fight for regaining the lost sovereignty", he said, adding that NIA doesn't have any strong evidence to charge them with waging war against India.
The UNLF Chairman said that he is fully confident and positive that the revolutionary movement will bring positive change in Manipur as the polarization process is on its way.
The unethical groups and members are soon to carve itself out and true revolutionarists from different community of Manipur will rise.
Even the communities of Western South East Asian understood that unity is the only essence to their development in future.
Meghen observed that staged surrender and fake encounters are natural in this struggle but it will never suppress the ideology of the revolution.
The strength of UNLF is the people of Manipur and motivational inspiration is the belief in the history of living together in unity.
On the political developmental taking place in India, the UNLF chief maintained that centralized political power is bound to decline when alliance government came into power leading to decentralization process.
In near future, regional political parties will come into power as happened in West Bengal.
It is inevitable as it is the way India has formed inheriting contradiction to political disintegration.
Meghen went on to observe that Manipur is today not under democratic law but under martial law.
People are used only to vote for the elections in the name of people's power which is in fact in the hand of
Indian Armed forces.
Stating that formation of CorCom is a positive step, the UNLF Chief noted that it has been formed as a result of collective leaders' decision and it is based from the lesson learnt from the mistakes of RJC, IBRF and MPLF.
"I strongly believe that CorCom will carry out activities for the integrity of the state" .
In a veiled reference to the recent statement of Governor Gurbachan Jagat who described militancy as the biggest industry in Manipur today, Meghen asserted that some people may have reason to believe that revolutionary movement is some kind of business, and these same people should have the reason to believe that surrender drama is also an industry.
On the issue of illegal migrants, UNLF chief observed that influx of migrants into the state of Manipur should be stopped with any mechanism as it has became a major threat to the people of Manipur.
