Connectivity key to development: Biswajit

While claiming that development is synonymous to BJP, PWD Minister Thongam Biswajit has called for collective effort of the people and Government to build a new Manipur.
He also assured of setting up multiple infrastructure, including a community hall, multipurpose indoor hall and improvement of road at Sinakeithei Village (Sanakeithel) .
Speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of the newly constructed Sinakeithei Village Authority office at the village in Ukhrul district, Biswajit claimed that BJP is committed to take the State forward through developmental works and programmes under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Further stating that many politicians and individuals are always trying to show BJP in a bad light by making unfounded criticism in their vested interests and spreading false propaganda, the Minister asserted that BJP welcomes constructive criticism saying such criticism is vital for bringing positive change in the society.
Saying that all the 60 legislators of the Manipur State Assembly are representing their respective constituencies and assigned with the task of looking after their constituencies in particular and State in general, he said that he is also assigned with the task of looking after the whole of Manipur equally as a Minister.
He then asked all not to believe in the false propaganda allegedly being spread by some people to portray BJP as a communal party while claiming that making such cheap propaganda would only amount to inciting communal hatred.
"Everyone is allowed to eat whatever food they like and follow whichever religion they like as granted in the Constitution.
There is no authority to restrict someone's eating habit and prevent anyone from choosing their desired religion", he added.
Biswajit also announced that a community hall will be constructed at Sinakeithei at his own expense and in the name of his mother so that the structure will stand as a memory of the bonding of love between two different communities.
Pointing out that surface communication/connectivity is the most important mode of communication for the State, he assured that the approach road to Sinakeithei will be included in a Government road improvement programme and the repairing work will start after monsoon season.
He also called for building a New Manipur through human resource development while noting that there is no resource greater than human resource.
The tender process for construction of a Power Sub Station has already been completed and will begin soon while the matter of upgrading the Government high school to the status of higher secondary and PHSC to the status of PHC will be consulted with the Ministers concerned as there are certain criteria, he informed.
The Minister has also assured that he will extend every possible support to provide skill development for handloom and handicrafts and even financial assistance under MEETAC so that villagers can find alternative source of livelihood under the said scheme/programme.
Highlighting the adverse impact of climate change and ecological imbalance in the State, he also encouraged the villagers to grow more trees in the village.
PHED Minister L Dikho, Phungyar A/C MLA K Leishiyo and Sinakeithei village headman V Canaan Phungshim Zimik also attended the function as guests of honor and president respectively.
