Imphal, February 28 2016:
The Indigenous People's Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) has said that the Congress Government has no moral right to serve the people further as it is unable to protect the dignity of itself and its people.
In a statement, IPAK alleged that the Congress Government has sold off itself to Naga Students Federation (NSF) by conceding to its pressure.
Taking further dig at the Government, IPAK said that suspension of five commando personnel was an insult to the people of Mani-pur as Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, who also holds Home portfolio, had confidently stated in the State Assembly that the commandos were not guilty in the February 14 Mantripukhri incident.
As such, the Government must immediately revoke the suspension order before the people rise in protest, IPAK said.
Alleging that the Government has victimised the inno- cent commando personnel to appease NSF, IPAK questioned if the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister would step down if NSF demands so.
The social body demanded the Government to order forced-retirement to the police commandos involved in the killings of Rabina and Sanjit.
It also asked to punish the commando officer who assaulted a girl protester during a pro-ILP protest last year.
