Imphal, April 26 2015 :
The Joint Administrative Council of All Manipur Trade Union's Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organization (AMGEO) is set to carry out a mass casual leave stir from April 27 as the State Government has allegedly failed to respond positively to the 29-point charter of demands of the JAC.
This was announced by JAC of AMTUC & AMGEO president M Rajendro at a press conference held at their office this afternoon.
He said that JAC executives had held rounds of meetings with Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga regarding their demands.
However, the Chief Secretary told them that he is helpless as the demands require the Cabinet nod.
As such, the JAC decided to carry out a three-day mass casual leave stir in a general council meeting of the JAC, the president said.
Saying that over 68000 State Government employees would take part in the stir, Rajendro said that the employees would hold another general council meeting and decide the future course of agitation if the Government maintains silence during the three-day stir.
He also expressed concern over the State Government's failure to spell out its concrete stand on the demands of the JAC till date.
Among others, demands of the JAC include clearance of DA/DR, implementation of SCA payment and other components of the 6th Pay Commission etc.
Rajendro claimed that Nagaland Government had already implemented similar points for their employees soon after Centre's announcement.
However in Manipur, the Government has undermined the demands of its employees, Rajendro alleged.
He further said that pensioners would also start staging sit-in-protest at Singjamei Chingamakha from tomorrow.
