The state Governor, Ved Marwah visited Ukhurl and Senapati district headquarters yesterday and spoke to public representatives about the problems and grievances being faced by the people.
According to a press statement released by the Raj Bhavan, at Ukhrul, the Governor met with village chiefs, Church and local leaders, and representatives of NGOs.
After listening to their grievances, he promised them all help despite the financial crunch the state is facing at present.
The Governor reportedly ordered the district officials to immediately start the repair of roads in Ukhrul town and the state highways connecting Ukhrul and Imphal.
He also agreed to the improvement of the playground in Ukhrul, the functioning of one PHC, and asked the concerned officials to expedite the construction of the high school at Ukhrul.
He further emphasized the need for urgent improvement of water supply schemes in the villages and the upgradation of the existing ITI at Ukhrul.
He also warned the government employees, particularly teachers who are not attending their offices and schools that stern disciplinary action would be taken if they do not perform their duties well.
He also visited the Ukhrul district hospital and sanctioned the required funds for the requirement of the hospital.
In Senapati, the Governor attended a meeting at the community hall, where representatives of various organizations submitted memoranda on their grievances.
In his address, the Governor informed his audience tat the repair of NH39 from Maram to Kangpokpi would be taken up immediately by the BRO.
