Imphal, August 25 2019: Customs Division Imphal Anti smuggling Unit arrested a 23 year old youth along with World is Yours (W/Y) tablets worth Rs 10 crore on August 23.Displaying the seized drugs and the arrested individual at the office of SP, Anti smuggling Unit customs Division Imphal yesterday, P Roben (PS, Anti smuggling Unit customs Division Imphal) stated that at around 4 pm of August 23, acting on specific information regarding the presence of some drug peddlers in and around Lilong Mairen-khong area, a team of Anti Smuggling Unit, Customs Division Imphal, rushed to the spot and arrested a 23 year old youth identified as Hefajuddin s/o Riyajuddin of Lilong Haoreibi, Sambrukhong, from Lilong Mairenkhong Makha Leikai.

The team also seized 10 packets of WY tablets (each containing 10,000 tablets) which was concealed in a green bag, he said, adding that Hefajuddin was arrested and the WY tablets were seized after observing necessary formalities.

Pointing out that a case has been registered under ND&PS Act, he explained that the seized drug is worth Rs 10 crore and added that further investigation is on to arrest other associates involved in the illegal activity.
