Keen retrospection needed, says PREPAK-I

Imphal, March 24 2025:
Stating that the policies, decisions taken by the Indian Government, the perspectives of its authorities, and the actions it has undertaken are now visible in the numerous wounds inflicted over recent yearsevident in the aggression by Indian forces, the conditions they have imposed, and their efforts to manipulate and control everything herePREPAK Interim Council Chairman Aheiba Angom has asserted that keen retrospection is needed in this direction.
On the occasion of the 45th Red Army Uprising Day, Aheiba Angom extended revolutionary messages to all the people of Kangleipak as well as revolutionary organisations of Kangleipak and WeSEA.
A statement issued by Aheiba Angom asserted that India's annexation of Kangleipak (Manipur) was not to elevate this land, integrate it into a united India, contribute to its progress, or allow the people to live freely in a democratic Nation as equals.
"Instead, we have been subjugated by India and the world has come to recognise this bitter truth," Aheiba Angom said.
India has employed these tactics not to uplift the people of this land or resolve the grievances of its communities but to suppress the populace and revolutionary fighters, creating divisions among the people and insurgent groups under the guise of negotiations, only to crush them later, read the Interim Council Chairman's statement.
Even though India loudly proclaims this conflict simply as a Meetei-Kuki issue, the people have clearly seen through this facade.
Unable to suppress it outright after two years, India has not abandoned this conflict as a lost cause; rather, it has shifted its strategy to prolong this proxy war through deceitful means, it alleged.
The forces they have unleashed are not retreatingthey are intensifying their efforts to divide the youth of this land, arming proxy groups to destabilise Kangleipak further.
This is nothing but a covert strategy to uproot revolutionary organisations from within.
Using the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) to oppress the people for over 40 years, India has employed State terrorism and military suppression to subdue this revolutionary struggle, it alleged.
Following this pattern, they have once again unleashed foreign immigrant mercenary forces under the guise of law enforcement, arming them through the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement, allowing them to operate unchecked for 15 years and disrupt the lives of the people of Manipur that have coexisted harmoniously for millennia, Aheiba Angom said.
While the people of Kangleipak have been marginalised, India has failed to answer who will address this crisis.
Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah stated in the Indian Parliament that this is an illegal immigration issue, claiming that external forces are responsible for the conflict between the Meetei and Kuki communities.
Now, he has twisted his words claiming the ongoing strife in Kangleipak as a mere conflict between the Meeteis and the Kukis, he remarked.
These foreign mercenaries, brought in from outside and settled within Kangleipak under SoO agreements, operate alongside Assam Rifles and other Indian armed forces, he alleged.
The people, who have lost faith in these forces, continue to bear the burden of these proxy groups unleashed by India, even today.
After being forcibly annexed by India in 1949, Kangleipak which was once a sovereign Nation has been reduced to a buffer region under India's control.
This is part of India's broader geopolitical strategy.
"Those who claim that compromising our territory is necessary fail to see the bigger picture", Aheiba Angom said in his statement.
It went on to allege that India collaborates with some Myanmar armed groups as a proxy, allowing Indian forces and the KNA-B to operate together, establishing PDF camps within Kangleipak, causing significant harm to the lives of local communities.
They treat this land as an expendable territory in Myanmar's context.
Although Indian leaders claim Kangleipak as part of India, they always disregard the people's wishes, it said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi portrays India as the land of Gautam Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi, a beacon of peace, aiding war-torn Nations like Ukraine and advocating for global harmony.
Yet, in the land he claims as his ownKangleipakhe wages a covert war disguised as ethnic conflict, aiming to suppress its people rather than fostering peace as he does elsewhere, it said.
