National Reconsolidation Month kicks off

Imphal, December 22 2024: The 191st National Reconsolidation Month, Chahi Taret Khuntakpa Ningsing Thouram under the theme "Eikhoi Amuk Hanna Khuntaklaroi" was kicked off today at Kamanga Awapalli, Cachar.

The event organised by the United People's Front, Manipur (UPF) will be concluded on January 9, 2025 .

The event was inaugurated by paying floral tribute to the statue of Meidingu Chinglen Nongdrenkhomba, popularly known as Maharaja Gambhir Singh.

Speaking on the occasion, UPF president, Nongthomba Rupachandra said that every year UPF has been organising January 9 as National Reconsolidation Day.

National Reconsolidation Month kicks off

He continued that Manipur has remained in a dire situation due to attack by some group of people.The current situation of Manipur is somewhat similar to the previous situation of 7 years of devastation that occurred in the State.

Therefore, starting from this year, the celebration of National Reconsolidation has been changed into National Reconsolidation Month, he added.

As part of the programme, the similar program will also be held at Leng Ondabi Pat, Cachar on December 24 and will conclude on January 9, 2025 on the death anniversary of Maharaj Gambhir Singh, he added.

After returning to Manipur, the objective for organizing such an event will also be shared and stressed with the public at different parts of the State, he added.

The event was also attended by Awapalli Khupham Kanba Ningsing Lup, president Saikhom Manimohon, UCM president, YK Dhiren, UPF advisor, Khomdram Ratan and Laishangbam Jadumani, Athoubasingi Liklam Thiba Lup, president, Nando, All Assam Manipur Students Union, president Sanahal, Manipur Youth Forum, Assam president, Brojen, Leng ondabi Pat Protection and Preservation Committee, Sichar president, N Nandamohan and Thawai Mirel, convenor, L Dara .
