State records 3 more COVID-19 deaths

Imphal, October 22 2020:
The State recorded three more deaths due to COVID-19 while 332 people with no travel history tested positive for the virus during the last 24 hours.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, two residents of Bishnupur district, a woman aged 70 and a man aged 35, died at Raj Medicity and JNIMS respectively even as a 58-year old man from Noney district succumbed to the contagion at RIMS during the last 24 hours.
The death toll now stands at 127 .
In the meantime, 345 people including six personnel of CAPF were tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours at RIMS, JNIMS, Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Christian Hospital, Ascent Diagnostics, Kakching, Raj Medicity, Imphal East, Tengnoupal, Thoubal, Swiss Hospital, Sky Hospital, Tamenglong, Jiribam, Ukhrul, Kangpokpi, Mothers Care, Advance Hospital, Babina Diagnostics, Asian Hospital, Chandel, Senapati and Imphal West.
Of the 339 civilians who have been tested positive, 154 belong to Imphal West, 71 to Imphal East, 31 to Thoubal, one to Jiribam, two to Ukhrul, four to Chandel, one to Kakching, 25 to Tamenglong, 17 to Churachandpur, six to Senapati, 4 Tengnoupal and 23 to Bishnupur.
Out of them, 332 have no significant history of travelling outside the State.
On the other hand, 196 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (22), home isolation (25), JNIMS (2), RIMS (15), Kakching (8), Sadbhavna (6), Lanva (3), CCC UNACCO (43), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (26), Tamenglong (2), Kangpokpi (11), Ukhrul (7), Lamding (2), Thoubal (18), Chandel (4) and Jiribam (2) .
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases has reached 16,621 (general population 13,929, Central security personnel 2692) .
It includes 4101 active cases (general population 3794, Central security personnel 307) and 12,393 discharged cases (general population 10,012 and Central security personnel 2381).The recovery rate has further slipped to 74.56 percent from 74.93 percent.
A late report informed that out of 83 samples tested today at JNIMS, 15 were found infected by the virus.
