The Sandang Senba Maring Village Authority has yet again sought Government's intervention over the alleged disruption caused by Andro villagers to them while carrying out agricultural activities.
Chairman of Sandang Senba Maring Village Authority KP Mothil while briefing media persons at Sandang Senba Maring village, urged the Government to look into the matter and help them carry out their agricultural activities without any disturbance.
KP Mothil admitted that there is a land dispute between them and Andro village and as such there has been constant disruption.
Even prohibitory orders on agricultural practices over the disputed area which falls within the valley portion was issued, he said.
They were however informed by Imphal East SP, Irilbung PS OC and Andro PS OC that the prohibitory order by the Andro village has been lifted and they could resume their activities on June 19, he said.
Subsequently on June 21, some villagers of Sandang Senba Maring went to the paddy fields but were allegedly stopped and told to leave by some villagers of Andro Maringthel who maintained that the resolution to lift the prohibitory order approved by authorities concerned including the Andro Khullakpa cannot be accepted, he said.
The villagers had to comply and return home, he said while alleging that many of the Andro villagers who turned up on the spot to disrupt the activities also held guns.
Maring villagers do not want any violence and have been exercising patience for long, he said while appealing to all concerned to do away with the restrictions and help them carry out agricultural practices normally before the opportune time for agriculture activities runs out.
