Cleanliness drive held

With an objective to keep public places neat and tidy, the Naga Women Union Chandel (NWUC) organized a cleanliness drive at District Hospital, Chandel today, our correspondent reports.
Volunteers of NWUC, a team of Chandel police, members of Widow Association and District Hospital Management staff swept and cleaned the hospital and its surrounding areas.
Chandel DC Robert Singh Kshetrimayum, Chandel Naga People's Organisation president Ws Kanral Anal, Naga Students' Union, Chandel president SR Joyningam and Chandel police station Officer-in-Charge also took part in the cleanliness drive.
Speaking at the sideline of the drive, Lh Bliss Anal, president, NWUC said the drive was conducted to spread the message 'Cleanliness is next to Godliness' .
While appealing contractors concerned to complete the ongoing construction of the 50 bedded hospital in the district at the earliest, Bliss Anal also urged authorities concerned to provide solid waste management facility at the district hospital for disposal of waste.
