Imphal, September 18 2015 :
The Supreme Court is likely to announce its verdict on the alleged attachment of fake educational certificates with election affidavits by YAS and Tourism Parliamentary Secretary and Moirang AC MLA Mairembam Prithviraj on September 23 .
This was informed by BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba during a brief interaction with reporters at their Nityaipat Chuthek office today.
A special leave petition was filed against the Parliamentary Secretary by retired IAS officer P Saratchandra at the apex Court, he said.
Later, the Court issued a notice to Prithviraj which was to be responded within four weeks.
Before the petition was filed at the Supreme Court, P Saratchandra filed an election petition at the High Court of Manipur regarding the matter in 2012 .
The petition alleged that M Prithviraj had attached fake educational certificates during the submission of election affidavits of the last State Assembly election.
According to the election affidavits, Prithviraj is an MBA degree holder of Mysore University of 2004 batch.
It has also been complained in the petition that M Prithviraj's educational qualification has been mentioned as MBA (Human Resource) even in the State Assembly website.
Some months back, Registrar of Mysore University had confirmed that M Prithviraj neither studied MBA nor received any degree from the varsity, Th Chaoba said.
