Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister O Ibobi said that Education and Health Care facilities are the two most important sectors which need to go hand in hand.
The State Government has been giving emphasis on development of these two sectors.
He also appealed to all the people of the state to cultivate the habit of donating blood.
Paban Singh Ghatowar, while appreciating the initiative taken up by Shija Hospitals, said that the Hospital has been equipped with all the requirements and almost all the world class health facilities are now available at the door step of the people.
The institute has also been providing employment opportunities to 600 youths of the state.
He noted that people of the country are reluctant to donate their body parts after their death, thus forgetting this humble service can save the life of another individual.
The reason behind this phenomenon is low rate of awareness level among the people.
The Union Minister informed that the Ministry of External Affairs would be highlighted the issue of providing Medical Visas to foreigners who prefer coming to Manipur.
Dr Kh Palin, Managing Director of Shija Hospitals and Research Institute, while delivering the key note address, said that Shija Blood Bank and Transfusion Services are milestones in medical care in the region.
The blood bank is a gift to the region and it has been set under PPP model.
NEC has funded 90% of the required amount while the remaining 10% has been provided by the state government.
The Shija provides land and the management, Dr Palin explained, while assuring that safest blood would be made available at the same rate as in RIMS and JNIMS.
The three blood banks in the state namely RIMS, JNIMS and District Hospital, Churachandpur have been able to tap 22,000 blood units when the current requirement in the state is 35000 blood units annually.
Shija Hospital is positive that it would be able to give fillip to this demand and supply gap, Dr Palin added.
He also informed that a Nuclear Acid Amplification Testing (NAAT), the first of its kind in Eastern India, is available in Shija Hospital on rental basis.
