Dimapur, July 17 2014:
After more than two years, the formal talks between the National Socialist Council of Nagalim-Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) and the Govern-ment of India have been resumed on July 16 in New Delhi.
"Mr.Ajit Lal representing the Government of India made it clear that even if there are difficulties invol-ved, he is hopeful to bridge the gap and pursue the matter for an early solution.
Mr.Th.Muivah representing the NSCN mentioned that the basis has already been laid and both should go forward," a press communique from the NSCN-IM said today.
Both sides are positive and agreed to embark on the peace process with renewed and earnest commitment.
On June 10, top NSCN-IM leaders had left Dimapur for New Delhi to resume the formal talks.
It is worth recalling here that NSCN-IM chairman Isak Chisi Swu and the outfit's general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah had left Dimapur for New Delhi on May 13 in con-nection with the ongoing peace talks.
The NSCN-IM leaders were in Nagaland since March 9 .
In those two months' stay here, the two leaders had signed the Lenten Agreement with the FGN/NNC and NSCN-Khole/Kitovi group under the aegis of Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR).
Formation of the Naga National Government' featured clear-ly in the Lenten Agreement.
The Naga National Government (NNG) is the ' Naga Concordant' signed few years ago, and in the March 28's meeting, these Naga underground groups agreed in principle to the formation of the NNG.
