Imphal, November 15 2015:
BJP is confident that the party would score thumping victories in the ensuing by-election to Thangmeiband AC and Thongju AC, said the party's State unit general secretary M Ashnikumar.
Speaking to media persons at the residence of Khumukcham Joykishan who is contesting the by-election on a BJP ticket in Thangmeiband AC, Ashnikumar ridiculed the way the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister have been canvassing for Congress candidates from one polling booth to another.
Both the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister have been campaigning at the highest decibels for they lack confidence in their own party and candidates.

Joykishan accompanied by a large crowd of his supporters made a house to house campaign today.
He said that he would secure 2000 votes more than the rival Congress candidate.
He asserted that the Congress party's muscle power and money power cannot fool voters.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam cannot absolve himself just by saying that he no longer supports Naga integration demand.
He must sent a letter to the Prime Minister declaring his position on the Naga integration issue, Joykishan said.
Ashnikumar asked the Congress Government to bring out a white paper on the development programmes it undertook in the last 13 years.
BJP would teach Congress party a befitting lesson in the ensuing by-election.
He said that the Congress Government deduct 10 to 15 per cent while releasing Bills of different contract works executed under several departments.
He also demanded the Government to bring out another white paper on the total amount utilized in renovating Kangla fort.
Black topping of roads being done at Thangal Keithel, Majorkhul, Tarung etc are aimed at winning votes for the Congress candidate.
He went on to question when was the tender held for these contract works and who are the contractors executing the same works.
Notably, Congress party leaders and supporters also went on a house to house campaign in favour of Congress candidate Jyotin Waikhom.
