Imphal, February 15 2025:
Former CAF & PD Minister L Susindro has stated that the power struggle for the post of Chief Minister was the catalyst for the imposition of President's Rule in Manipur.
He made the statement during a Lui Ngai Ni festival organised by Naga Peace and Solidarity Committee, Langol at Mao Poumai Baptist Church, Langol today.
Addressing the function, the MLA continued that every MLA has the potential to become the Chief Minister, but only one can hold the position.
He urged all the legislators to adopt a sacrificial spirit and put the needs of the State and her people above personal ambitions and interest.

Afterall the State cannot have multiple Chief Ministers , the MLA further said.
About the resignation of former Chief Minister N Biren , Susindro said that he may have his reasons.
Saying that the crisis which has been plaguing Manipur since May 3, 2023 has had far-reaching consequences, affecting every aspect of the State, the MLA maintained that the crisis may not have taken place in the first place if people adhere to the principles outlined in religious texts.
The Government's crack down on drug trafficking and illegal immigrants was one big factor which triggered the unrest, the MLA said.
If the issues of drug trafficking and illegal immi- gration aren't addressed, other States might face similar challenges as Manipur, the MLA added.
Susindro, meanwhile, emphasized the significance of agriculture in ensuring food security and survival.
Reducing transportation costs for fruits and vegetables from remote villages can help make them more affordable and accessible to consumers, while also supporting local farmers and the rural economy, the MLA said and called for investment in local farmers to support the local economy.
IGP (Ops) Dr IK Muivah, on the other hand, said that Lui Ngai Ni is a major festival of Manipur.
He said that farming is very important but people should also invest in education and skill development and inculcate a hard working culture to create a more sustainable and prosperous future.
Different Naga leaders also attended the festival which was inaugurated by igniting fire in a traditional method by a group of Maring people.
Many cultural items were also presented during the festival.
