Imphal, November 14 2013:
The JAC constituted against the assassination of MPP vice president Haobijam Manisana has called a 24 hour State-wide general strike with effect from 5 am tomorrow in protest against the Government failure to establish any clue to the assassination.
A press release issued by the JAC asserted that the assassination of Haobijam Manisana in broad day light within the high security zone of airport complex exposed serious loopholes in the security arrangement of the State Government.
It also asked the assassins to spell out the reasons and motives for killing Manisana.
It appealed to all political parties, civil society organisations, student bodies, women groups, youth clubs and Meira Paibi organisations to support the JAC and its protest movements.
